The 2026 Cloud Over Taihang 100 Trail Race marks the inaugural edition of this unique 'Cliff Civilization' exploration event. Set in the heart of the Taihang Mountains, runners will experience dramatic vertical landscapes, ancient trails, and breathtaking views that have earned this region recognition from National Geographic.
Course Details
Taihang Dragon Ridge 100KM
This challenging 98.1km course features 3,676 meters of elevation gain, taking runners along the spine of the Taihang Mountains with technical cliffside sections and panoramic views.
Ladder to Clouds 50KM
A 48.8km route with 1,930 meters of elevation gain, offering a condensed experience of the mountain's most dramatic vertical features.
Ancient Path to Heaven 35KM
This 38.4km course follows historic trails through the mountains with 1,642 meters of elevation gain, connecting ancient villages and natural landmarks.
Cliff Rainbow Play 10KM
A shorter 9.4km option with 433 meters of elevation gain, perfect for experiencing the cliff landscapes without the extreme distance.
Location
The race starts and finishes at the Baligou Scenic Area Visitor Center in the South Taihang Tourism Resort. This location provides access to some of the most dramatic cliff formations and waterfall systems in the region.
Getting There
Travel to Xinxiang city in Henan province, then take local transportation to the South Taihang Tourism Resort area. The nearest major airport is Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport (CGO), approximately 2-3 hours drive from the race location.
