Runners will experience rugged trails, significant elevation gain, and panoramic views of the Great Wall winding through spring-blossomed mountains.
Location
The race is held in Yanqing District, Beijing, with events split between two main locations:
- Badaling Great Wall Scenic Area: Start point for 20km, 30km, and 42km categories (North Gate Lock).
- Lipao Village: Finish point for 20km, 30km, and 42km categories, and packet pickup location.
- Badaling Ancient Great Wall Scenic Area: Start and finish for 6km and 10km categories (mountain gate).
The course traverses UNESCO World Heritage sites, offering a unique blend of natural beauty and historical significance.
Getting There
Transportation options vary by race category:
- For 6km/10km groups: Drive to Badaling Ancient Great Wall Scenic Area, or take bus 919 to 'Badaling Ancient Great Wall' stop and walk 1.2km.
- For 20km/30km/42km groups: Drive to Lipao Village, or take bus 919 express to 'Yingchengzi' stop and taxi to Lipao Village. Note: Private vehicles are not allowed in Badaling Scenic Area; park at Chadao Parking Lot and walk 1.3km or take a shuttle to the start.
- By train: Take the S2 line or Beijing-Zhangjiakou High-Speed Railway to Badaling Great Wall Station, then use race shuttles or taxis to the appropriate venue.
Accommodation is available in nearby villages like Shixia Village, Lipao Village, Chadao Village, and Bangshuiyu Village, with free shuttle services provided by the organizer on race days.
