(J) Safety Briefing and Acknowledgment

Human Life First, Safety Paramount: Every runner is the primary custodian of their own health and physical safety. Participants must verify that all medical certificates and race history data submitted are accurate. If you have any medical condition that compromises your safety during high-intensity sports, contact the Committee to withdraw. Monitor your body's signals during the race. Upon experiencing dizziness, acute fatigue, chest tightness, or respiratory distress, cease movement immediately and request aid from nearby staff or medical personnel. Finishing safely is your highest duty to yourself, your family, and the sport.

VII. ONSITE PARTICIPANT PROTOCOLS

(A) Packet Pickup Procedures

  1. All race packets must be collected in person by the registered participant; proxy collections are strictly prohibited. A signed Liability Waiver and Safety Commitment Form must be submitted at the pickup counter. Failure to pick up packets within the designated schedule constitutes an automatic forfeiture of entry.

  2. Participants must verify the presence of all components inside the race pack and ensure that electronic tracking units are functional prior to exiting the pickup area.

  3. Uncollected packets for non-attendees can be shipped post-event via SF Express (cash on delivery). Shipping details must be submitted via the official post-race prompt before 22:00 on the day of packet pickup.

(B) Bag Drop and Transition Services

  1. Bags must be deposited at designated areas according to race categories during the scheduled check-in window.

  2. Only official event bags provided by the Organizing Committee will be accepted for storage; personal luggage, suitcases, or non-standard bags will be rejected.

  3. The small corresponding bib tag must be securely attached to the exterior of the drop bag, and the matching main bib must be presented to storage staff for verification.

  4. Bags will be returned exclusively upon personal presentation of the runner's main race bib; proxy retrievals are prohibited.

  5. Mid-race drop-bag transition services are restricted to official transition bags provided by the Committee.

  6. The bag drop service is intended for standard apparel only. High-value personal items (such as mobile devices, wallets, currency, bank cards, or tablets) must not be stored inside drop bags. The Organizing Committee disclaims all financial and civil liability for the loss of valuable items concealed inside deposited bags. Unclaimed bags must be retrieved within 5 days post-event; uncollected items after this period will be treated as legally abandoned.

(C) Trail Navigation and Markings

  1. The official electronic GPX track logs will be uploaded to the official WeChat account one week prior to the race for personal download.

  2. Physical course markings will consist of high-visibility marking tape, directional signs, reflective stickers, strobe lights, and banners.

  3. Runners must strictly follow the marked trail. If a runner does not encounter an official course marker for over 100 meters, they must stop and cross-reference their position against their pre-loaded GPX track log. If off-course, the runner must backtrack to the last confirmed marker.

  4. Taking shortcuts is strictly prohibited. Unofficial tracks are hazardous and can cause significant delays in emergency search and rescue operations.

  5. The Organizing Committee reserves the administrative right to modify trail routes, start times, and checkpoint cut-off windows due to environmental demands.

(D) Checkpoints and Aid Stations (CP/SP)

  1. Participants must pass through all official checkpoints in sequential order. Each checkpoint enforces a strict cut-off time. Arriving at a checkpoint after its designated cut-off time will result in immediate disqualification and removal from the course.

  2. The official aid station plan detailing locations and nutrition types will be published pre-race. Drop bags will be delivered to designated transition stations for equipment changes and nutritional restocking.

  3. No non-biodegradable waste (such as plastic food wrappers, plastic cups, or bottles) may be carried out of the aid station zone. Littering on the trail is strictly prohibited.

  4. Race officials will perform mandatory gear inspections at checkpoints; non-compliance will result in penalties.

(E) Leave No Trace (LNT) Mountain Ethics

  1. To minimize ecological impact, aid stations will not supply disposable cups or eating utensils. Runners must carry and use reusable containers, such as folding bowls, spoons, and eco-cups.

  2. Runners should carry a personal trash bag for wrappers and waste generated on the trail, which must be disposed of in trash bins at the next aid station.

  3. All race materials and markers will be dismantled and collected by the Committee post-race to ensure environmental restoration.

(F) Medical, Health, and Field Rescue Protocols

  1. Official medical personnel have the authority to evaluate, examine, or treat any participant. Runners must cooperate fully with medical staff; time spent during examinations will not be deducted from the runner's total race time.

  2. Medical officers have the authority to suspend or medically disqualify a runner based on health evaluations.

  3. In an emergency, participants must provide reasonable aid to distressed runners until professional rescue personnel arrive on site.

  4. Crucial Field Rescue Information:

  • Runners must pause their race and cooperate fully when questioned by medical or rescue personnel regarding their physical condition.

  • Injured or unwell runners may seek aid at any station or request fellow runners to inform course marshals.

  • Emergency details (blood type, emergency contacts) on the reverse side of the race bib must be filled out before the start. For emergency field rescue, call the official telephone number printed on the bib.

  • If official medical personnel determine that a runner cannot safely continue, the runner must accept medical disqualification unconditionally.

  • Runners must recognize that field deployment takes time; personal safety during this period depends on the mandatory gear carried by the runner.

  • Any injury or death resulting from the use of prohibited substances or illegal doping will be the sole legal responsibility of the participant. The Organizing Committee disclaims all liability for medical costs, lost wages, or disability/death compensations arising from such actions.

(G) Course Withdrawals and Evacuation

  1. Withdrawals must be executed at an official aid station, except in cases of debilitating injury that prevents movement.

  2. Withdrawn runners must remain at the station and wait for the official evacuation vehicle; leaving without permission from station officials is prohibited.

  3. If a runner decides to withdraw while between two stations, they must proceed forward to the next checkpoint to formalize their withdrawal. If backtracking to a previous station, they must call the emergency number on the bib to verify that the station has not already closed.

  4. Staff will mark the race bib of withdrawn runners to indicate their retirement from the race.

  5. The Organizing Committee reserves the authority to mandate a compulsory withdrawal if a runner's condition poses a threat to their physical safety.

  6. Evacuation vehicles operate along scheduled routes. Depending on course conditions and passenger volume, wait times at evacuation points may range from 1 to 2 hours.

(H) Contingency Operations and Force Majeure

  1. The Organizing Committee reserves the authority to modify routes, start times, cut-off times, and station locations to ensure participant safety and operational integrity.

  2. A formal race suspension mechanism ("熔断" mechanism) will be enforced. In the event of severe weather or natural disasters, the race will be halted immediately, and evacuation protocols will be activated to protect all participants and staff.

  3. If force majeure or hazardous weather prevents the event from proceeding as scheduled, the organizers reserve the right to alter routes, postpone starts, or cancel the race. Registration fees are non-refundable under force majeure cancellations.

  4. If an alternate route is activated without cancelling the event, official rankings will be based on times recorded along the modified course, prizes will be distributed accordingly, and ITRA points will be recalculated based on the actual course data.

  5. If a race is halted mid-course, final rankings will be determined by the runner's placement at the last successfully completed timing checkpoint. Prizes will be distributed based on these results, and ITRA points will be adjusted accordingly.

(I) Insurance Coverage and Legal Indemnification

  1. The Organizing Committee will secure Public Liability Insurance and Group Personal Accident Insurance for all registered participants, event staff, and volunteers during the race period.

  2. If inaccurate or fraudulent registration details prevent an insurance policy from being issued or processed, the participant shall bear all resulting liabilities independently.

  3. Medical emergencies triggered by pre-existing conditions, chronic illnesses, or hidden cardiovascular issues (such as heatstroke or fainting) that are excluded from standard insurance policies are the sole responsibility of the participant. The participant shall bear all resulting costs, including medical treatment, disability compensation, or wrongful death liabilities.

  4. The accident insurance provided is a baseline policy and does not cover illnesses caused by pre-existing conditions. Participants should purchase supplementary personal insurance policies according to their needs. All registrants are presumed to possess full civil capacity and to have accepted these insurance terms.

  5. The Committee provides complimentary, immediate on-site first-aid medical care during the event. If a participant requires transfer to a hospital for continued treatment, all hospital expenses must be settled directly by the participant, who may later file a claim with the insurance provider. The Committee will assist by providing necessary event documentation.

  6. Standard Insurance Claim Procedure:

  • Accident occurs $\rightarrow$ Notify emergency services immediately (if a traffic accident) and inform the insurance provider $\rightarrow$ Collect documentation as instructed by insurance customer service $\rightarrow$ Seek treatment at a public Grade II Class A or higher hospital and retain all official medical invoices/receipts $\rightarrow$ Submit the claim files $\rightarrow$ Receive insurance settlement.

(J) Intellectual Property and Image Rights

  1. The Organizing Committee retains all copyrights to photographs, film, and media captured during the event containing the likeness of participants. The Committee reserves the exclusive right to utilize or authorize the commercial use of these media assets.

  2. Participants supported by unofficial personal sponsors may only display sponsor logos on their personal apparel or equipment during the race. The display of unofficial commercial marketing gear (such as corporate flags, banners, or signs) along the course or at the finish line is prohibited and will result in penalties.

VIII. COMPLIANCE AND TIMING PROCEDURES

(A) Starting Grid and Check-in Operations

  1. Marshalling staff will verify participant credentials (race bibs, wristbands) and inspect mandatory gear (survival blankets, waterproof jackets, tracking units) before allowing access to the starting grid.

  2. Gear checks are conducted by marshalling staff under the strict supervision of the chief referee.

  3. Participants with missing mandatory items will be denied entry to the grid until the gear is replaced. Refusal to correct gear deficiencies will result in immediate disqualification.

(B) Race Start Protocol

  1. The race utilizes a single mass-start signal format for each designated category wave.

  2. Invalid starts—including starting in an incorrect wave, crossing the start line more than 10 minutes after the official signal, bypassing the marshalling grid, or failing to cross the timing mat—will not be halted mid-race. Referees will disqualify the runner's time post-race and reserve the right to issue additional disciplinary penalties.

(C) Timing and Electronic Chip Tracking

  1. Timing is tracked using disposable transponder chips integrated into the main race bib. No chip deposit is required, and chips do not need to be returned post-race. Chips are issued alongside the bib during packet pickup.

  2. The main race bib containing the timing chip must be securely attached to the front of the torso and remain clearly visible throughout the entire race.

  3. The event uses an active check-in timing system. Electronic mats or handheld scanners are deployed at the start line, all designated checkpoints (CP), and the finish line. Runners must cooperate with timing officials to ensure their chip is scanned. The Committee reserves the right to deploy unannounced mobile checkpoints along the trail to verify compliance.

  4. The start line timing loop will deactivate 10 minutes after the starting signal. Checkpoint and finish line closures are determined by absolute time of day and will not adjust for an individual runner's delayed start.

  5. To achieve a valid finish, a runner must register a time stamp at all official checkpoints in sequential order. Runners who cross the finish line within the cut-off time but are missing a checkpoint split will be disqualified, excluded from the final rankings, and barred from receiving finisher certificates or gift bags.

  6. Missing Split Appeals Protocol:

  • If an electronic split is missing due to a system error, the runner may submit an administrative correction request.

  • The runner must present verifiable secondary proof, such as photographic evidence at the checkpoint or standalone GPS watch track data.

  • Corrections are subject to review and approval by the referee panel.

  • Appeals must be submitted within 3 hours after the final race closure; requests submitted outside this window will be rejected.

(D) Scoring Rules and Official Standings

  1. Official place rankings and award distributions are determined strictly by Gun Time. Net time (chip time) is provided solely for personal reference, does not influence place rankings, and will be displayed exclusively on the electronic finisher certificate.

  2. ITRA records and rankings will be submitted using official Gun Times.

  3. Finisher Certificate Elements: Participant Name, Bib Number, Race Category, Gun Time (Official Field Score), Net Time, Official Overall Rank (by Gun Time), and Gender Rank.

  4. To achieve a valid finish, a runner must navigate the official trail, pass all checkpoints sequentially within the cut-off times, and carry all mandatory gear. Any rules infractions will trigger penalties before results are finalized.

(E) Cut-off Time Applications

  1. To ensure participant safety and operational logistics, strict cut-off times are enforced for each section of the course. Once a cut-off time passes, all timing and aid station operations at that checkpoint will close.

  2. Cut-off times are detailed in the official route map, and updated schedules will be posted at each station. Runners must clear the station before the cut-off time.

  3. The start line closes 10 minutes post-signal. All station cut-offs are based on absolute time of day, regardless of a runner's individual start time.

  4. Runners who fail to beat a cut-off time must board the official evacuation vehicle to be transported to the finish area.

  5. Cut-off schedules may be adjusted mid-race due to hazardous weather or delayed starts. Runners must follow the directions of station staff.

(F) Administrative Disqualifications and Forced Retirement

A runner will be disqualified or forced to retire from the race under the following conditions:

  1. Failure to pass the start line timing mat within 10 minutes of the official start signal.

  2. Discovery of missing mandatory gear during pre-race, mid-race, or post-race inspections.

  3. Refusal to undergo a mandatory gear inspection.

  4. Withdrawing from the race outside a designated checkpoint, except in cases of medical emergencies.

  5. Failure to clear a checkpoint before its official cut-off time.

  6. Voluntarily backtracking to a closed checkpoint without verifying if staff are still on site.

  7. A compulsory retirement order issued by official medical or rescue personnel based on health evaluations.

  8. A disqualification order issued by a station referee due to unsportsmanlike conduct or rules infractions.

  9. Refusal to allow staff to mark the race bib to indicate withdrawal.

  10. Leaving an aid station after a withdrawal without permission from station officials.

IX. DISCIPLINARY PENALTIES AND INFECTIONS

(A) Enforcement Framework

Violations of these regulations will result in penalties based on the severity of the infraction, including official warnings, time penalties, disqualification, or temporary/permanent bans. The Event Disputes Committee holds ultimate authority over all disciplinary actions.

Because trail running takes place in open natural environments, penalties are cumulative; each infraction discovered will incur an independent penalty, and all penalties will be added together to determine the final score. Electronic surveillance units along the course hold the same enforcement authority as field referees.

(B) Infractions Incurring an Official Warning:

  1. Inadvertent rules violations that do not impact safety or competitive fairness.

  2. An official intervention to prevent a potential rules violation.

  3. Accidental littering.

  4. Improper placement or mounting of the race bib.

(C) Infractions Incurring a 10-Minute Time Penalty:

  1. Accumulating three official warnings.

  2. Cutting, altering, modifying, or defacing the official race bib.

  3. Carrying non-biodegradable waste (wrappers, cups, bottles) out of an aid station zone after being warned by staff.

  4. Bypassing or disregarding official course direction signs or markers.

(D) Infractions Incurring a 30-Minute Time Penalty:

If the appeal is upheld, the arbitration fee will be refunded in full. All decisions issued by the Event Disputes Committee are final and legally binding.

  2. Procedure:

  • Submit a formal written appeal outlining the dispute.

  • The Disputes Committee will convene an arbitration meeting to review evidence and hear arguments.

  • The Disputes Committee will issue its final ruling.

XI. EVENT SAFETY MATRICES

  1. The Organizing Committee prioritizes safety; however, the primary safety requirement is that runners must take responsibility for their own choices and actions.

  2. Mandatory entry criteria, packet pickup schedules, gear requirements, and station cut-offs are enforced to protect participant safety.

  3. Runners must recognize that mountain terrain can cause delays in rescue response times. The mandatory gear carried in a runner's pack is crucial for their safety during these intervals.

  4. Insurance Framework: The Committee maintains Civil Liability Insurance to cover financial losses arising from organizational liability. Group Accident Insurance is also provided for all runners, staff, and volunteers during the race period.

  5. Course Retirement Safety:

  • Runners who choose to retire from the race between stations must proceed to the nearest aid station, notify staff, sign a withdrawal form, and allow their bib to be marked. They must remain at the station until evacuation transport arrives. Leaving the course without notifying officials will be treated as an unannounced abandonment, and the Committee disclaims all liability for any consequences.

  • Disqualified or retired runners may board the official evacuation vehicles to be transported back to the finish area.

  • The Committee will cover ambulance transport costs for severely injured or incapacitated runners who require immediate transfer to a hospital, as determined by the official race doctor.

  1. Medical Deployment:
  • All aid stations feature a medical tent connected to race headquarters via direct telephone links.

  • Medical tents provide primary care, supplemental oxygen, and high-altitude emergency medications.

  • Runners may seek treatment at medical tents, call the emergency number on the bib, or request fellow runners to notify staff.

  • Providing aid to an injured competitor and notifying medical staff is a fundamental duty for all participants.

  • Runners must recognize that terrain can delay medical arrivals; mandatory personal gear is essential for safety during these intervals.

  • Requesting medical assistance grants the medical staff authorization to perform necessary emergency treatments, such as intravenous fluid administration. Medical personnel hold the authority to determine if a runner can continue or requires hospital transfer.

  • Hospital medical costs must be settled directly by the runner. Runners may later apply for insurance reimbursement based on their official medical records. The Committee will assist by providing necessary event documentation.

  • The Organizing Committee disclaims all medical and safety responsibilities for any participant who voluntarily leaves the marked course or event boundaries.

XII. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PROCEDURES

In the event of force majeure, extreme weather, or conditions that threaten participant safety, the Organizing Committee reserves the authority to execute the following operational adjustments:

  1. Modify or reroute the race course.

  2. Adjust wave start times.

  3. Suspend or cancel the event mid-race in compliance with the Notice of the General Administration of Sport on Establishing and Improving the "Event Suspension" (熔断) Mechanism for Sports Events.
