Overview
Set off from the "Triple Crown" Shennongjia Songbai International Slow City through misty waterfalls, beneath starry skies, and deep within ancient rock formations. Running along the ancient mountain ridges of Shennongjia, which have folded over 800 million years, your footsteps synchronize with fossils, and your breath resonates with the tectonic movements.
Shennongjia is China's first and the world's second UNESCO "Triple Crown" site - recognized as a World Natural Heritage Site, World Geopark, and International Biosphere Reserve. This race takes you through one of the most pristine wilderness areas in Central China.
The Experience
Galaxy Valley Experience the "Galaxy Valley" of Wulang Qingyang where stars like salt grains are scattered by mountain winds. The remote location and high altitude make this one of the best stargazing spots in eastern China.
Wufeng Mountain Pass Run on the crest of cloud waves as the boundless sea of clouds pours down. At over 2,500m elevation, you'll be running above the clouds on clear mornings.
Ancient Geology The trails traverse rock formations dating back 800 million years - some of the oldest exposed geology in China. You're literally running through deep time.
Location
Shennongjia Forestry District is located in northwestern Hubei Province, bordering Chongqing. The race starts and finishes in Songbai Town, designated as an "International Slow City" for its preserved traditional culture and relaxed pace of life.
The area is famous for:
- Dense primary forests covering 96% of the land
- Home to the endangered golden snub-nosed monkey
- Legendary home of the "Yeren" (Chinese wildman/Bigfoot)
- One of China's most biodiverse regions
Weather Conditions

- Conditions: Variable - prepare for sun, rain, and cold
- Altitude: 1,200m - 2,900m
