Getting There
- Fly ✈️: Zhongwei Shapotou Airport (ZHY) has direct flights from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu; take a taxi or rideshare onward, about 15km to the Shapotou desert area.
- High-speed rail 🚄: Zhongwei South Station(about 1.5 hours from Yinchuan); continue by taxi or rideshare to the venue.
About the Race
The course crosses the Tengger Desert's rolling dunes outside Zhongwei: not scattered sand but a true sand sea, stretching unbroken to the horizon. All three distances start together at 7:00 on race day, with bib pickup taking place the day before, September 25.
Start and finish at the Music Festival Square in the Desert Area of the Desert-Yellow River Outdoor Sports Destination, a tourism and outdoor-sports zone on the edge of Zhongwei where the Tengger Desert meets the Yellow River.
