Race Categories
Da Feng Speed Climb (DFVK30)
- Elevation range: 3,250–5,025m, summiting Da Feng Peak
- ITRA points provisional
- A speed-climb reinterpretation of traditional mountaineering: the base-camp-to-summit route is mostly scree and classified as technical, with guardrails on the riskier sections
- One-way distance to the summit is about 15km with 1,800m+ of absolute elevation gain
- Only the ascent to the summit is timed — descent is untimed — making a round trip of about 30km total
- Summit views include Yaomei Peak's south face and the sea of clouds
Da Feng Mountaineering (DFDS30)
Er Feng Mountaineering (EFDS34)
Getting There

- Self-drive 🚗: Siguniang Mountain is about 175km from Chengdu, roughly a 3-hour drive.
- Bus 🚌: A daily coach departs Chadianzi Passenger Station around 6:30am for Xiaojin County (about 5 hours); from Xiaojin, local minivans continue to Rilong Town at the foot of Siguniang Mountain.
About the Race
Now in its 9th edition, Pioneer Camp's Mt. Siguniang Mountaineering Festival brings together three high-altitude categories: a timed speed climb and an untimed mountaineering ascent of Da Feng Peak (5,025m), plus a longer ascent of Er Feng Peak (5,276m). All three climb from a 3,250m base up through the Siguniang Mountain range on the eastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau.
Location
Siguniang Mountain Scenic Area sits in Xiaojin County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan — a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, National 5A Scenic Area, National Geopark, and part of the Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries World Heritage listing. The area spans the Shuangqiao, Changping, and Haizi valleys beneath the Siguniang Mountain peaks, whose main summit, Yaomei Peak, reaches 6,250m and is known as the "Queen of Sichuan's Mountains" — often billed as an "outdoor paradise" and "sacred mountain of the East."
