Overview

Now in its ninth edition, the 2026 Li River Trail Run circles through the karst highlands framing one of China's most photographed river valleys. The 100km route passes through more than 30 villages and riverbank hamlets, including the Nine-Horse Fresco Hill ferry crossing and the Wuzhi Mountain ridge, before returning to the ancient fishing town of Xingping. Shorter distances share the same dramatic opening terrain along the Li River before cutting back across the interior hills.

Location

All distances start and finish at Xingping Ancient Town (兴坪古镇), a well-preserved Ming and Qing dynasty riverside settlement in Yangshuo County, Guilin, Guangxi. The town sits on a bend of the Li River surrounded by the signature limestone pinnacles depicted on the 20-yuan note. Bib pickup is on November 20, 2026.
