Getting There
- Fly ✈️: Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport (JZH) is about 88km (1.5–2 hours by car or shuttle bus) from the Jiuzhaigou area, with direct flights from Chengdu (~40 min) and Chongqing. Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU) is the main transfer hub for international arrivals.
- High-speed rail 🚄: The Chengdu–Jiuzhai high-speed line runs from Chengdu East Station to Huanglong-Jiuzhai Railway Station in as little as 1 hour 39 minutes, followed by a roughly 2-hour bus or car transfer to the Jiuzhaigou area.
- Bus 🚌: Shuttle buses connect Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport to the Jiuzhaigou scenic area, about a 2-hour drive (~45 CNY one-way).
About the Race
The Jiuzhaigou Sacred Realm Trail Race is a newer addition to the region's race calendar, run entirely outside the Jiuzhaigou National Park itself along Zhongcha Valley. The Mystic Realm 21K climbs to 3,137m over technical terrain, passing original Tibetan villages, an alpine meadow area locals call the "sky grassland," and a newly added viewpoint platform. The Tibetan Village 12K shares the same valley on gentler paved, farm-track, and single-track terrain, making it an accessible entry point for runners new to altitude trail racing.
Location
Jiuzhaigou County sits in the Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of northern Sichuan, best known internationally for the turquoise lakes and waterfalls of Jiuzhaigou National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The race itself starts and finishes at Huamei Shengdi Sacred Eagle Plaza, with the course running through Zhongcha Valley's Tibetan villages just outside the county seat.

(A) Rules
- Gear must be presented at packet pickup; failure will result in no race materials.
- Gear must be carried throughout the race. Spot checks are mandatory.
- Consumable items (emergency blanket, energy food) may be replaced at aid stations with empty packaging/old items.
- The organizing committee may add gear requirements based on weather.
