2026 Outopia 7th Huanglong Extreme Endurance Race

Overview

The 2026 7th edition of the Outopia Huanglong Ultra Endurance Race offers a challenging high-altitude experience through UNESCO World Heritage landscapes. Runners can choose from single-day distances (15km, 30km, 50km) or multi-day formats (2-day and 3-day combinations). The courses traverse the stunning Huanglong travertine pools, ancient Songpan town with its Tibetan architecture, and historic tea road trails that have been used for centuries.

Location

The race is based in Songpan County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Key venues include:

• Songpan Ethnic Square: Start/finish for the 15km and 30km races, located in the historic ancient town
• Huanglong Scenic Area Visitor Center: Start point for the 50km race, gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage site
• Zhaga Waterfall Visitor Center: Start point for the Emerald Waterfall Twin Lakes 30km segment
• Erdao Lake Visitor Center: Finish point for the Emerald Waterfall Twin Lakes segment

The area combines cultural heritage with natural beauty, featuring Tibetan monasteries, ancient city walls, and the famous colorful travertine pools of Huanglong.

Getting There

For the 2026 event, participants should plan travel to arrive by June 25th for registration and check-in.

The nearest airport is Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport (JZH), but we recommend flying into Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU) Or Tianfu International Airport, then,

• Train 🚄 (Recommended): High-speed train from Chengdu to Songpan Station runs about 300km. From there, local transport to Songzhou Ancient City.
• Bus 🚌: Buses run from Chengdu Chadianzi Station to Songpan. Book through the "Sichuan Bus Ticket Network"WeChat platform.
