Basic Information

I Event History Introduction

The International Sports Challenge Competition Hundred Kilometers Around Gongga Mountain has been held since 2015 in Ganzi Prefecture of Sichuan China. It is the world's highest-altitude, most complex-route and most scenic international A-level event. It is also the only domestic event that allows athletes to enjoy snow mountains over 7,000 meters in altitude at that time. In 2017, it was recognized by the General Administration of Sport of China and the National Tourism Administration as one of the first batch of National Sports Tourism Premium Events and the only one in Sichuan Province.

From 2015 to 2017, the athletes participating in the high-altitude areas each year, challenged themselves in completing the race of run around " The King of Sichuan Mountains" in three years. The event was held for the fourth and fifth session in 2018 and 2019, and then came to a pause.

In 2026, the event will be restarted and renamed as Minya Konka Trail, marking a comprehensive upgrade of the safety system and ecological value of high-altitude outdoor events in China.

Registration

The event organizing committee sets corresponding entry requirements for different types of events, including age requirements, physical condition, identity requirements, health requirements, athletic ability, support ability, mandatory competition equipment, etc., to review the entry qualifications of athletes. Only those who meet the requirements can register.

Instructions for Registration

The event organizing committee reminds: Athletes must fully understand the potential risks of the event, confirm that their personal health conditions meet the standards of extreme sports, purchase personal accident insurance, bear their own physical and accident risks, and fully assess their own risk tolerance. Only those who strictly abide by the code of conduct for athletes and complete the qualification verification for participation will be eligible to register. According to Article 1176 “assumption of risk”of the Civil Code of the People's Republic of China, the act of registration constitutes a clear commitment in the legal sense that the athlete is fully aware of the rules of the event, deeply understands the physical injury, property loss and other unforeseeable risks that may arise throughout the event, and voluntarily assumes all legal consequences arising therefrom.

Risk Notification

Trail running events are set in a pristine natural environment, where athletes have to traverse steep slopes and deep valleys, wade through rapid streams, climb cliffs, craggy rocks and slippery rock faces and other complex terrains during the challenge. They also have to face the ever-changing extreme weather - alternating scorching sun and cold waves, tearing clothes with thunderstorms, fog and hail intertwined threats, these unpredictable natural forces can cause a complex risk of altitude sickness, body temperature imbalance, heat stroke disease, rock wall falls, cardiac arrest and wildlife invasion at any time. Athletes must be aware of the risks of the event before signing up.

Health Requirements

Trail running places strict physical demands on athletes. Athletes must hold a physical examination report within one year, which, after being evaluated by a medical institution, objectively assess their physical condition in combination with their sports history to ensure that they meet the competition intensity requirements of the category they are signing up for. The event organizers do not provide any consultation on the physical condition and health status of athletes or any assessment of their suitability for the competition. By signing up, the athlete is deemed to be fully aware of and voluntarily assume the sports risks that may arise from personal health issues and must sign the "Participation Risk Notice" as a legal document before the event, confirming that all risks and consequences arising from accidents caused by physical reasons shall be borne by the athlete himself.

Guarantee of ability

Athletes must have comprehensive wilderness survival support capabilities, be able to effectively control and properly handle all kinds of emergencies caused by the natural environment, and specifically meet the following core requirements:

  1. Be proficient in dealing with extreme weather conditions such as day and night alternation, strong winds, low temperatures, thick fog, heavy rain, thunderstorms and ice and snow without external assistance, and have the professional ability to prevent and handle hypothermia, dehydration, heat stroke and accidental injuries;
  2. Master the physiological regulation techniques for independently dealing with altitude adaptation disorders, properly address common problems such as digestive system disorders, muscle strain or joint pain, and effectively overcome physical and mental distress caused by minor illnesses;
  3. Continuously monitor one's physical and mental state, promptly implement scientific self-rescue plans for state adjustment, and decisively activate the voluntary withdrawal mechanism when necessary. When forced to withdraw due to health risks by the organizing committee, one must strictly follow the professional judgment of the medical team;
  4. Recognize clearly that the event organizing committee is not responsible for responding to the above risks, and deeply understand that the core of safety guarantee in mountainous area competitions lies in the athletes' own predictive ability and adaptive handling level of foreseeable and emergent problems.

Code of Conduct for Athletes

  1. Conduct pre-competition physical examinations strictly in accordance with the procedures and rules, purchase competition insurance, and sign the event risk notification letter.
  2. Strictly abide by all competition regulations and rules, obey the instructions of the referees, and protest or appeal to those who have objections to the penalties in accordance with the prescribed procedures of the rules;
  3. Respect your opponent, respect the referee, respect the audience; Show a good mental outlook and promote the Chinese sports spirit;

  6. Do not intentionally damage other athletes' equipment, do not maliciously hinder other athletes' progress, do not destroy road signs and direction signs;
  7. Protect the environment and do not litter; Strictly abide by forest fire prevention regulations and prohibit the use of open flames;
  8. Do not accept non-neutral assistance and play fairly;
  9. Athletes must fulfill their obligation to provide emergency assistance to people in distress and inform the organizing committee immediately;
  10. Ensure that the registration materials are true and valid. Fraudulent acts such as forging identities and tampering with completion certificates are strictly prohibited. The organizing committee reserves the right to immediately disqualify and hold accountable those who violate the rules and report to the competent authorities for inclusion in the event blacklist.

Accident insurance

All athletes are required to purchase their own special accident insurance covering risks throughout the event and present valid insurance certificates to the organizing committee for verification upon registration. The organizing committee reserves the right to disqualify any athlete who fails to provide valid insurance certificates as required. The coverage period includes at least from the date of registration to the end of the competition. It is strongly recommended to cover the round-trip time from the departure point. The insurance terms must include: death/disability coverage due to accidental injury and sudden illness (clearly covering special risks of extreme sports such as sudden death, heatstroke, hypothermia, etc.); Compensation for medical treatment costs. Among them, the death/disability coverage shall not be less than RMB 500,000, and the single payout limit for accidental medical treatment and sudden illness medical treatment shall be more than RMB 20,000. The organizing committee will release a list of recommended insurance types certified by professional institutions through the official platform before the event for athletes to take out insurance precisely and avoid disputes over claims due to non-compliance with insurance terms.
